School News & Important Dates
The beginning of the school year is just around the corner and we are so excited to welcome students and teachers back for another year of growing in faith and knowledge. Thank you to all our parishioners who so generously support St. Margaret Mary Alacoque School. You are a blessing to us!
All important information for the 2023-2024 school year will be posted on FastDirect http://www.fastdir.com/smmaschool under LINKS by Friday, August 4. If you have any problems accessing information on FastDirect, please call the school office at 314-487-1666 and leave a message for the school principal, Mrs. Peggy Visconti, ext. 214, or the Administrative Assistant,Mrs. Tracey Miesner, ext. 213.
All families are asked to update parent information on Fastdirect, especially emergency contacts and doctor phone numbers. Class lists will be open for viewing beginning Friday, August 4, 2023.
PRESCHOOLERS ON THE PLAYGROUND
If you have a preschooler ready to begin or return to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque School, they are probably anxious to meet the teachers and other students in the class. Preschoolers and their families are invited to gather for Preschoolers on the Playground to get to know the other families in the preschool class.
Students enrolled in the four year old class with Mrs. Doerr or Mrs. Uthoff will gather at the Jordan Finley Playground on Saturday, August 12 beginning at 9:00 am.
Students enrolled in the three year old class with Mrs. Skillman are invited to get together on Saturday, August 12 beginning at 10:00 am.

Backpack Blessing
On Sunday, August 13th, at the 11:30 am Mass, all school-age children are invited bring their backpacks to church. After communion, the children will be asked to stand and have backpacks blessed for the upcoming school year.
Open House
Sunday, August 13 – Grade K-8 Classrooms, 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Teachers in grades K-8 will be in classrooms to greet students and parents. This is a great time to drop off school supplies and lighten your load for the first day of school.

Wednesday, August 16 – Noon Dismissal for grades K-8
First Full Day of Classes for Grades K – 8
Thursday, August 17 – 7:50am – 2:50pm
Lunch service begins today.

Monday, August 21 – Monday /Wednesday /Friday (3 year olds) and M-F (4 year olds) sessions begin
Tuesday, August 22 – Tuesday/Thursday (3 year olds) ; Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday (4 year olds)
“Back to School” Parent Meeting For Grades K-8
Wednesday, August 30 – 6:30 – 8:00 pm
This will be an opportunity to learn more about the overall goals for the school year as well as have an opportunity to meet with your child’s homeroom teacher and hear about classroom expectations and procedures. More information will be forthcoming. Stay tuned.
