Msgr. Norb Ernst was born on December 16, 1946 and was raised in South St. Louis. He attended St. Boniface Grade School where he was taught by the Sisters of Christian Charity. He graduated from St. Louis Preparatory Seminary South in 1964, Cardinal Glennon College in 1968 and was ordained from Kenrick Seminary on May 20, 1972 by John Cardinal Carberry.

Msgr. Norb’s history of parish assignments is as follows: associate pastor, St. Angela Merici in Florissant, 1972-1977; Sts. John & James in Ferguson, 1977-1982; All Souls in Overland, 1982-1988; St. Peter in Kirkwood, 1988-1991. Archbishop John May appointed Msgr. Norb the Pastor of Our Lady, Queen of Peace in House Springs in January of 1991. He served there until May of 2004. 

On May 4, 2004 Archbishop Raymond Burke appointed Msgr. Norb Pastor of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.In September of 2003, at the recommendation of Archbishop Justin Rigali, Pope John Paul II conferred the honorary title Monsignor on Fr. Norb and 14 of his brother priests. Fr./Msgr. Norb has enjoyed over 30 years as a diocesan priest and looks forward to many happy years of service to the dear people of SMMA.

Reverend Mr. Andrew Daus
Permanent Deacon
Deacon Andy Daus was the youngest of four children. Growing up in South St. Louis, he attended St. Wenceslaus grade school and then attended St. Mary’s High School on South Grand, graduating in 1964. Andy then attended St. Louis University graduating in 1968 with a business degree. He met his wife Linda Marie Struckhoff while attending St. Louis University and they were married in 1969.

He then spent four years in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. He was stationed at the Naval Hospital in San Diego as an operating room technician in charge of supplies until 1972. Upon his return to St. Louis he represented 3M Company as a sales representative in the Health Care Division. He remained with 3M and in St. Louis for over 34 years retiring in 2007.

Andy and Linda have three grown children, Kim, Keith, & Kari. They also are the proud grandparents of Kaitlyn and Phillip Speairs the children of his daughter Kim Speairs; and Serena and Aliana, daughters of Kari and Chad Carson.  

Andy was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, June 3rd 2000 by Archbishop Rigali. He was assigned to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish.  Since that time he has actively involved with many parish activities including, marriage preparation, weddings, baptisms, funerals, the Rite for Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) team, a co-captain for White House Retreat, as well as co-chairing the monthly fish fries (something he’s done for years). 

Deacon Daus received his preaching faculties from the Archdiocese of St. Louis in July of 2002. He is a deacon representative on the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council. Since 2007, he volunteered to be a prison minister at Potosi Correctional Center and is the liaison person for Kairos Inside (a Christian Prison Retreat Program) and the Potosi Correctional Center.   Andy enjoys his free time with his family, golfing, traveling to Fort Worth, Texas to visit his daughter Kim, and the grandchildren and to Clemson, S. Carolina where Kari his youngest daughter lives with Chad and her two daughters.

Deacon Bob Orr grew up in North St. Louis and attended St Paul the Apostle Grade School. His family moved to South County and Bob met his wife Carol while attending Affton High School.

Bob and Carol have been married for over 49 years and have two grown children, a daughter Christine and a son David. David married in September 2001 to Renee St. John. David and Renee have 3 daughters, Emma, Allison and Katie, all attending St Margaret Mary. Christine married Joe Sopiars February 26, 2011. Christine has a son, Evan and five step children. They live in Trenton, Illinois. 

Bob has a Bachelors degree in Management and a Masters in Human Resources. He retired from Sigma-Aldrich in 2003 with 39 years of service. Bob also retired from the United Coast Guard Reserves in March 2005 with 40 years of service.

Currently, Bob is sales manager for WORTH Industries; a work shelter dedicated to employment opportunities for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Bob is also on the evening staff at Washington University teaching in the business department. Bob was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate May 2005 and his free time is devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
